This Quantum Puzzle Tripped Me Up
This video was supposed to be about a refutation of macroscopic realism. At least that’s what the press release said. It seemed interesting because, I don’t know about you, but to me the macroscopic world seems pretty real. Most of the time anyway.
But it turned out that what they mean by “macroscopic” is a neutron. Yes, a neutron. A particle so small you can’t even see it in a microscope. And the only thing they did with it was to show that it has quantum properties. Why does this stuff get published.
I decided to not make a video about this, but this reminded me of a quantum puzzle that tripped me up and I thought you might want to try your hands on it. And then I’ll explain how this is related to the macroscopic reality thing.
